City Streets at Night
I hear the city streets at night,
They scream at me in my sleep.
Sirens echo through the hallowed
Halls of brick and glass and
Endless, dark skies.
It’s the darkness that puts me
At ease, it inspires me to walk
In the day to face the ugly folk.
I put on a Façade long enough
To see the bland blue Sky break,
Opening the vast universe that
Truly reflects my soul.
